Eddie Andrews was quite an athlete. At FHS Eddie starred in football, baseball, basketball, and track. But as a tennis player, he excelled both in his high school days and later in life."
After graduating from Fairhaven Eddie went to the University of Alabama, where he captained the tennis team. Upon graduation he was selected as Alabama's Head Tennis Coach in 1937. FHS honors Edmund Andrew each year by giving an award which was donated in his name by his classmates. The Edmund Andrews Award is presented to "the Senior athlete who, on and off the field, reflects the greatest credit to Fairhaven High School" as Eddie had done in his day.
