Mary (Howland) Battaini

Mary Howland Battaini is a Fairhaven Icon, as well known to many as the town benefactor himself. Appointed to the first Recreation Commission, Mary began her service to her town early. She was also on the first Historic Commission, and served as liaison from the Fairhaven Mothers' Club to the first Girls' Club as well as serving on various Boys' Club and Activity Center committees.

Mary's work as the President of the FHS Alumni Association Board of Directors for sixteen years has made her well known to all who have graduated from Fairhaven High School. She has also served as the Chair of the original Alumni Restoration Committee, and her service and hard work have made her an important citizen and alumnus.
