Barry Behn

Barry Behn was a member of the Class of I 958. He earned a total of 11 athletic letters: 2 in Football, 4 in Tennis, 2 in Baseball, and 3 in Basketball. Of all the sports in which Behn excelled, it was in basketball that he won his greatest glory.

In his senior year Barry led all players in Bristol County in scoring with a 27.7 per game average. He once scored 41 points in a game against North Attleboro. He was chosen as the captain of the mythical All-Bristol County first team in 1958, and was on the squad in 1957 as well. Behn is a member of the IO00-point scoring club in basketball.

In 1958, he was presented the Touchdown Club of New Bedford's trophy for "all-around athlete". He was president of his Senior class, Key Club, and Student Council; played on football teams that beat New Bedford three years in a row and captained the basketball and tennis teams for two years each.

He went on to Brown University where he played varsity basketball for three years.
