Jillian Cunha was an exceptional athlete at Fairhaven High School from 1992-1996. She excelled at soccer, basketball and spring track. She played each sport all four years during her high school career. She was a big contributor during the establishment of the first girls' soccer team at FHS having been in the Soccer Club for two years.
During her junior year, the first year if the girls soccer team, she lettered and was recognized as the team captain. She was a South Coast Conference All-Star and a member of the SCC Sportsmanship soccer team. Also, Jillian scored the first goal ever for the Lady Blue Devils' team. She was also the team captain as well as a SCC All-Star for the second consecutive year during her senior season.
Jillian was a four year varsity letterman in girls' basketball. She was basketball captain in her junior and senior seasons. She was the first female to record 300 points in one season. Jillian was the area's best 3-point female scorer. During her four spring seasons Jillian lettered each year and was team captain and an SCC All-Star during her senior year.
Throughout her four years of high school, Jillian earned a scholar-athlete award after each of her 12 seasons. In 1996 she was the Fleet Center Good Sport nominee, the Mel Entin Award recipient and the Standard-Times Most Dedicated Athlete Award recipient.
After high school Jillian continued her education at Quinnipiac College in Connecticut. She graduated in 2002 with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. She is currently working at Gaylord Rehabilitation Hospital in Connecticut as a level II Clinical Specialist I Wheelchair Assessment.
