Inducted into Hall of Fame: 2006
Hall of Fame Category: Lifetime Achievement

Despite a three-year athletic career of little distinction, Dellecese's meteoric ride up the communications ladder began when he was a student at Fairhaven High School.

When he wasn't preparing for another basketball or baseball season, Chris was focusing on his new passion of journalism. Most of his free time was spent in the building that housed the town's cable television studio and under the tutelage of M.L. Baron Chris eventually developed into a top personality at Cable 2.

Following his graduation from high school, Chris enrolled at the University of Georgia where he majored in journalism and minored in speech communication. He served as the sports editor for the school newspaper and covered all major sports in addition to writing a weekly sports column.

While in college Chris served a journalism internship with the U.S. Olympic Committee's Public Information and Medi Relations Division in Colorado Springs and during his internship helped produce the media guides for the 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

After graduating with a degree in journalism, Chris took a job as sports producer for WJAR-TV in Providence where for the next seven years he coordinated schedules and work assignments for the five person sports staff. While there he produced a weekly half hour basketball show with then Providence College head coach Pete Gillen.

Chris oversaw coverage of the Newport Marathon and Harvard Health 5K Road Race, and during the football season Chris produced 8-10 half hour specials on the New England Patriots during the team's run to Super Bowl XXXI. He also produced wrote and edited promotional and industrial tapes for various businesses, entertainers and a nationwide fantasy baseball camp and produced taped features and live broadcasts for various dinner tributes and award shows on Fox Sports Net.

From there, the ascent up the ladder has been both fast and impressive. In 1997 he was named sports producer at KMGH-TV in Denver where over the next five years he was responsible for story content, production and execution of the station's 5 and 10 pm sportscasts. In addition, Chris also produced a weekly coach's show and oversaw specials for playoff games.

His next step up the ladder came in 2001 when Chris was named senior sports producer for Fox Sports Net in Denver. There, he was in charge of a production staff of 15 and responsible for all content of a 30-minute news show called "The Rocky Mountain Sports Report". Chris produced several special projects, including story conception, assignment desk planning, script writing and editing.

Three years later Chris was named Senior Producer of Comcast Sportsnet in Chicago and since 2004 has been in charge of a production staff of 25 and responsible for all content of a 60-minute news show called "Sportsnite". He has produced pre and post game shows for the Chicago Cubs, White Sox, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks.

After learning his trade at the small Cable 2 television station in his hometown of Fairhaven, Chris Dellecese has gone on to cover Super Bowls, World Series, Final Fours, Stanley Cup Finals, the PGA Tour, College Bowl Games, Major Boxing Championship Fights and Olympic Events on his way to winning an Emmy and associated Press Awards.

Chris is the son of Alfred and Joan Dellecese of Fairhaven and the brother of Kim Dellecese Scieszka who, with her husband Jon, live with their two children, Katherine and Carolyn in Fairhaven.
