Norbert Desroches, "Nobby" to his classmates, lettered in football as an eighth grader playing under the direction of Coach Alexander Clement. Nobby went on to play four more years under Mel Entin's guidance.
In his junior (1945) and senior (1946) seasons he was selected to the Bristol County All-Star Teams and in his senior season he was co captain and received the MVP Trophy.
After graduation in 1947 Nobby went on to play football with the Fairhaven Varsity Club ( I year) and with the Murphy Club (three years). While with the Murphy Club he was voted MVP and received the Roland Blanchette Memorial Trophy for "Outstanding Lineman" in 1949.
Mr. Desroches served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He later received his degree in Power Machinery from the New Bedford Institute of Technology.
