Heidi was a four year athlete and a letter winner in three sports: volleyball, basketball, and softball. She was selected to the Standard Times All-Star teams in volleyball (1988) and basketball (1989). The South Coast Conference honored her as an All-Star in volleyball (1980), basketball (1989) and softball (1988 and 1989). In her junior season she co-captained the softball team, and in her senior seasons she served as co-captain of both the volleyball and softball teams.
As a power hitter on the volleyball team, Heidi led her 1988 team to the state Division 2 South semi-finals. In basketball she averaged 11.7 ppg and 8 rebounds per game, leading the team to its finest record in ten years.
In 1989 Heidi received the Mildred Parkinson Tunstall Award for out-standing achievement as a female athlete at Fairhaven High School. In 1989 she was a member of the World Sports Exchange volleyball team.
Heidi went on to UMass - Dartmouth where she lettered for four years in volleyball, serving as co-captain in her senior year.
She has coached both volleyball and softball at area high schools and at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
