John B. "Skip" Hall was an athlete and student wandering the halls of FHS in the early '60's.

His life's journey took him far beyond the walls of friendly Fairhaven to a successful career in the USAF. Upon graduation from FHS, Skip went to U Mass Amherst, taking a degree in Business Administration in 1967. He then attended the Undergraduate Pilot Training Program, Reese AFB, Texas, and then F-4 combat crew training, Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona.

He spent 1968-69 in the 366th Tactical Fighter Wing, DaNang Air Base, South Vietnam, and 1970- 71 in the 432nd Tactical Fighter Reconnaissance Wing, Udom Royal Thai AFB, Thailand.

His journey through the Air Force continued at a rapid pace, from his promotion to second Lieutenant on March 16, 1967, to his eventual promotion to the rank of Brigadier General on March 1, 1992.

His decorations include the legion of merit with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Distinguished Flying Cross with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Meritorious Service Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Air Medal with Twenty-six Oak Leaf Clusters.

From August 1994 to the present, Brigadier General Hall holds the position as Director, East Asia and Pacific Region, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
