Jim Hubbard graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1955. While at FHS he was member of the football, baseball and track teams. He was a standout as well as a captain on all of these teams earning nine varsity letters and making multiple Bristol County and Boston Globe all scholastic teams. He also served as a class officer for the Class of 1955.

Jim furthered his education at Bridgewater State College where he continued his athletic prowess with the soccer, baseball and track teams and his success on these three teams would culminate in Jim being inducted into the Bridgewater State University Hall of Fame in 2009.

After graduation from Bridgewater Jim went on to become an educator and coach at Old Rochester Regional High School where he worked for twenty years. His football, baseball and track teams were very successful with his Spring Track teams in particular winning numerous league and conference championships in the 1960’s and ‘70’s as well as the 1967 Class D State Relays Championship. Jim served as the Athletic Director at O.R.R. from 1975 – 1980. He was inducted into the Old Rochester Regional H.S. Hall of Fame as a coach in 2014.

Besides coaching high school athletics, Jim played a leading role in the Cape Cod Baseball League which is the best college summer league in the country, and attracts the top collegiate players every summer. Jim spent all of the 1960’s as the manager of the Cotuit Kettleers, and during those ten seasons his teams won four league championships. While managing Cotuit his teams compiled a .628 winning percentage which is the second highest in league history. After his successful managing stint in Cotuit, Jim went on to become a Director and General Manager for the Wareham Gatemen in the CCBL from 1978- 1997. Jim was inducted into the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame in 2006 in recognition of his 35+ years of service to that prestigious organization.
