A four-year, three season athlete at Fairhaven High School, Donald Joseph, Jr. played football, basketball and baseball. During his four years at FHS Donnie was an outstanding athlete, who was a team leader and role model.
In football Donnie started as a quarterback, but by his sophomore year he had moved to the fullback position where he would make his mark as a player. He was also an outside linebacker on defense.
As a senior in 1991 Donnie helped lead his team to a record of 11-1-0, a South Coast Conference Championship, and the Division IV Large School Super Bowl. In the Blue Devils 30-27 Super Bowl victory over East Bridgewater, Donnie ran for a 63 yard touchdown.
On the basketball court Donnie was a tough, hard-nosed player at the center position. The highlight of his basketball career was a 21-point, 18-rebound effort against Dighton-Rehoboth. He also took his hard-nosed-style of play into the spring where he was a center fielder and pitcher on the baseball team.

As a captain of both the basketball and baseball teams, he was selected as an honorable mention for the All-Conference teams during his senior year. In football, he was a two-year varsity starter on both offense and defense.
After graduation, Donnie went on to play four years of football at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He was a three year defensive starter. He graduated from WPI in 1996 with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Donnie continues to use his athletic and leadership skills teaching youngsters in the classroom and on the playing field. A math teacher and a three season coach at Fairhaven High School, Donnie lives in Fairhaven with his family.
