Kay Mullen

Kay was a 3-sport athlete earning 11 varsity letters during her sports career participating in volleyball, basketball, and softball. Kay was a middle blocker who Coach Arsenault referred to as “a force at the net.” Her contributions were not only at the net, but as a true team player who helped her team become SCC Champions in 2012. In addition, her team was South Sectional Champs in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Kay was a 4-year starter who ended her career with 679 kills, 838 digs, and 237 blocks. She was a SCC Honorable Mention, a SCC All Star, a Division 2 All Star and Team MVP as she led her team to both the state semifinals and finals during the course of her career.

On the basketball court, Kay earned 3 varsity letters and received SCC Honorable Mention her senior year. Playing the position of center around a very talented group, her efforts helped her team to a 22-3 record and a state semifinal appearance in 2012 at TD Garden.

Out on the softball field, Kay was a 3-time SCC Honorable Mention, a Standard-Times Honorable Mention, and a SCC All Star. She was a 4-year varsity starter playing 1st base and Coach Cathy Silva said “defensively she was stellar at her position.” In her senior year, Kay accumulated the following stats: 76 AB, 29 hits, 1 HR, 23 RBIS and a .382 Batting average..

After graduating in 2013, Kay attended Eastern Connecticut and played 4 years of volleyball. Her degree in Communications led her to her current profession. She works as a contractor for the U.S. Navy focusing on antenna systems for submarines. Kay is married with a baby girl and resides in North Kingston, RI.
