Julie is a veteran of four seasons of cross-country, lettered in each season, and holds records at various locations including the Riverside Cemetery course in Fairhaven and the course at Case High School. She captained the team for three years and was the Standard Times Perfection Player of the Week on numerous occasions. She was a South Coast Conference, Standard Times, and Boston Herald All-Star.
Julie ran in three indoor track seasons, lettering in each. She holds school records in the mile, two-mile, and 1000 yard run. An SCC all-star and all conference team member, she was a Standard Times all-star and Perfection Player of the Week. In the State Class C Championship Meet Julie won the two-mile in a blistering 11:33.7; she had an "area best" 5:21.6 mile in her junior season.
In her only season of spring track (sophomore), Julie set a school and South Coast Conference Meet record in the 2-mile ( 12:28.5). Julie was a steady team contributor in the distance events and the mile relay. In her junior and senior years, Julie opted to play tennis where she made a contribution in both singles and doubles play.
At Stonehill College Julie continued her running and in her senior year was named MVP. Additionally she was named to the All-Academic, All-Region, and All-East teams.
Julie says,"... running... made a mark in my life that can never be erased. It taught me... how hard work can never be compromised... that things come easy if you have a passion for a particular activity."
