Myles Perron-Sovik was a four-year, three season athlete for Fairhaven High School. Myles played three seasons of varsity football, four seasons of varsity basketball and three seasons of varsity baseball. By the end of Myles’ playing career he had received recognition as an all-star in all three of the sports that he played. Myles scored 26 touchdowns in 26 games for the Fairhaven High School football team. As a sophomore he shared the team lead in touchdowns in a season with eight.
It was during his up and then down junior season that Myles’ ability was put on display. The up had Myles scoring seven touchdowns in his first five games of the season. The down came during the sixth game when Myles was lost for the rest of the season with a broken collarbone. He was able to return for his senior season and rushed for 600 yards and 8 touchdowns, but he also caught passes for another 200 yards and three touchdowns. While his play and statistics are impressive enough, Myles skills and leadership was also put demonstrated on defense.
Myles had three interceptions during his senior year and was always around the football. The all-round play of Myles Perron-Sovik helped lead his football team to an 8-3 record and their first winning season in nine years.
When the football season ended it was on to basketball where Myles played four seasons of varsity basketball. Myles led his team in three-point field goals in his sophomore, junior and senior years. He also averaged double figures in points during his junior and senior years. During his senior year Myles was the second leading scorer on the team averaging 11.1 points per game while leading the team in assists all while being the team’s best perimeter defender. Myles was also nominated to be the team’s representative for the prestigious Dave Cowen’s award.
On the baseball diamond, Myles played a variety of positions. It was during his senior season that he settled in on the catcher position. While playing the most physically demanding position on the baseball field Myles batted .427 and hit 5 homeruns. He also scored 26 runs and stole 21 bases on the season.
After graduating from FHS Myles graduated from UMass Dartmouth with a degree in History, but decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and took a position with the U.S. Postal Service. Myles married his wife Alyssa in 2017 and they have two sons: Maddox and Jaxson. They reside in Dartmouth but Myles says that he "still bleeds blue".
