Jeff distinguished himself in three areas of play, lettering in baseball three years, football two years and basketball two years, captaining all those teams in his senior seasons.

He was named to the Standard Times All-Star team in football and baseball and was a SMC Division 2 All-Star in all three of his sports. In 1982 he was the SMC Division 2 baseball player of the year.

He was honored by the Boston Globe as a divisional player of the week in football ( 1981) and as an All-Star for the Eastern Mass. Leagues - Quarterback Southeastern Region and as a member of the Boston Globe All-State Football Team - quarterback. In 1981 Jeff was also named to the Adidas All-America Football Team (Honorable Mention).

Jeff received the Greater New Bedford Sports Boosters All-Star Award for basketball in the 1981-82 season. He was named numerous times as the Perfection/Standard Times Player of the Week. And in 1982 he was the recipient of the Edmund Andrews Trophy and was voted "Most Athletic" by the Class of 1982.
