Donna Wunschel achieved success in field hockey (left link), basketball (point guard) and track and field (sprints and jumps). Her athletic career brought her SMC and SCC All-Star status in each of her sports and Standard Times recognition as a two-year All-Star for her track and field accomplishments.
Donna had "personal bests" of :11.7 in 100 yards (:12.6 in 100 m); :26.7 in 220 yards (:25.6 in 200 m - the track record at Durfee High School) and was a member of a school record 4x100m relay team at:51.4. Donna also achieved "bests" of 5'0 in the high jump, and 16'3" in the long jump.
She was the co-captain of the 1986 track team which finished second in the State Class D Meet.
In 1986 Donna was the recipient of the Mildred Parkinson Tunstall Award, awarded to the outstanding female athlete in the Senior class.
