A Wonderful 2024 Homecoming Weekend!
The 2024 Homecoming Weekend had it all: beautiful weather (except for Sunday evening), a terrific crowd at the Fair in the center of town, several class reunions, another great All-Class Breakfast Buffet hosted by the Class of 1974 and the largest group yet of participants (125) for the two Saturday FHS building tours led by FHS Alumni President Bob Foster '66.
The Class of 1974 celebrated their 50 Year Reunion at the Inner Bay Cafe in New Bedford on Saturday evening and then hosted the All-Class Breakfast Buffet in the FHS Cafeteria on Sunday morning. They passed the 50 year reunion banner to next several members of the Class of 1975 who will be hosting the event next year. And to wrap up the weekend on Sunday evening, the FHS Hall of Fame inducted 8 new members. (see the separate article about that event).
The annual All-Class Breakfast Buffet has been run continuously since 2004 and has always been catered by Matt Gamache '78 and his Courtyard Restaurant. Even though many alumni attend, it is open to the public, and the 50 Year Reunion class has traditionally organized the event with the support of the Alumni Association.
