2025 LIGHT-a-LIGHT SEASON KICKS OFF!
Last year's 2024 Light-a-Light Campaign was a very successful one with 556 donations being received that totaled $51,215 thanks to our very loyal alumni base. We have established a goal of $50,000 for this year's campaign so that we can continue to support projects and Alumni scholarships at Fairhaven High School. This past year we spent $35,400 restoring all 102 wooden desks in Room 7, and thanks to your generosity, we were able to award $34,000 in scholarships to a large number of college bound students from the Class of 2025.
Our beautiful Colorado Blue Spruce Tree on the west lawn of the high school will be lit in early November with one bulb for every $10 donation being represented by a light on the tree. Once again we are going to award $2,000 scholarships to five college bound students from the Class of 2026 at the Junior Day exercises in honor of the five classes that have the largest number of donors. Last year's competition was the most competitive "Battle of the Classes" that we've had and we expect this year's to be even more heated.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DONATIONS HAVE TO BE A MINIMUM OF $10 PER PERSON TO COUNT TOWARDS THE TOTAL FOR EACH CLASS FOR THE "BATTLE OF THE CLASSES" COMPETITION.
Last year the Classes of 1964, 1966, 1986, 1976, 1973 and 1965 were the top finishers in that order. The Class of 1964 smashed their own previous record with 119 total donors. Remember that the totals include donations made "in memory of" deceased classmates. We will update the tabulations on our website and our Facebook page on Sundays or Mondays once the battle gets going.
