Sheila (Tunstall) McKenna '58 Still Hooping It Up

F.H.S Hall of Famer Sheila (Tunstall) McKenna '58 just can't give it up. At the age of 84 she's the captain of the "CT High Fives" women's basketball team which competed in the National Senior Games in Des Moines, Iowa in the 80-84 age bracket from July 22 to August 3, 2025. There were 22 different sports with senior athletes from the ages of 50 to 100 from all over the country competing in different age categories.
Sheila and the High Fives won four of the seven games that they played and won the Bronze Medal. After starring at FHS where she averaged 20.5 ppg in her senior year (including 42 points in one game) Sheila took her talents to Bridgewater State College where she continued her basketball career. And she hasn't stopped.
Sheila and the High Fives have played on the national stage for the past 25 years and will be featured in an upcoming documentary on senior-citizen athletes.
