2026 Fairhaven Homecoming Review
The annual Fairhaven Homecoming Weekend was a memorable one for many reasons. The Class of 1976 kicked off the weekend by having their 50 year reunion bash at Cisco Kitchen & Bar in New Bedford, and then raised the Big Flag in front of FHS to signal the start of the big weekend in town.
Beautiful weather made the street Fair in the center of town extremely popular, as large numbers of people from all over the region wandered from booth to booth from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm, while FHS Alumni President Bob Foster '66 led a total of 126 people through the halls and rooms of our historic high school in two separate tours at 10:00 and 12 noon. At the same time the Class of 1958 held their 68th year reunion in the FHS Cafeteria hosting a Brunch catered by Matt Gamache's Courtyard Restaurant.
The cafeteria was also the location of the annual All-Class Breakfast Buffet hosted by the Class of 1976. Courtyard Restaurant has been providing the breakfast for this event since 2004 when the Class of 1954 initiated the first first event and passed the 50th Reunion Banner along to the Class of 1955. Next year the Class of 1977, led by Class President Jeff Canastra, will be organizing the breakfast, which is open to everyone, on the occasion of their 50 year reunion.
The weekend wrapped up on Sunday evening with the 31st annual FHS Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony at the Century House in Acushnet. A crowd of over 220 people enjoyed a delicious buffet before witnessing the induction of eleven individuals and two teams. Details of the inductions can be read at: https://fairhavenalumni.org/ne...
