2024 Homecoming Weekend Events
The 2024 Fairhaven Homecoming Weekend will kick off on Friday evening, June 28th at the flag pole in front of Fairhaven High School when a large contingent of classmates from the Class of 1974 raise the "Big Flag" that will fly all weekend as they celebrate their 50 Year Reunion. The small flag will be taken down and folded at 4:30 pm and at 5:00 pm the Class of 1973 will raise the "Big Flag". The high school will be open from 5:00 - 7:00 pm that evening for those who want to reminisce and visit their old classrooms or just show off the beautiful building to their spouse. The Big Flag will be taken down by the Class of 1974 on Sunday at 6:00 pm and then the smaller flag will be put back up.
On Saturday, June 29th the ever popular Homecoming Fair will be held in the town center from 10 am to 4:00 pm. This year the FHS Alumni booth in front of the Millicent Library will be selling a new product: 12 oz. stemless wine glasses that are $8.00 (see photo). Last years Fair was cancelled because of inclement weather, so this will be the first chance for the public to buy these unique glasses. Several class reunions will be held on Saturday: the Class of 1958 will have a Brunch at the FHS Cafeteria from 10:00 am - 1:30 pm catered by the Courtyard Restaurant, the Class of 1974 will be partying at the Inner Bay Cafe in New Bedford, while the Class of 1964 will be celebrating their 60 Year reunion at the Century House along with the Class of 1969 (55 Year Reunion) who will be using the Terrace Room at the Century House. On Sunday, June 30th the Class of 1974 will host the annual All-Alumni Breakfast Buffet in the FHS Cafeteria from 8:30 - 10:00 am. The event is catered by the Courtyard Restaurant, and tickets are $13 each. Tickets are available at the Euro Store in the center of town, at the Alumni Booth at the Fair or can be purchased at the door. The breakfast is open to everyone, not just FHS alumni.
The 29th annual FHS Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony will be held at the Century House in Acushnet starting with a Social Hour at 5:00 pm. Details of this event including the names of the inductees and ticket information can be found at this web link : https://fairhavenalumni.org/ne...
